One of America’s oldest cities sits on Florida’s historic coastline.

The oldest continuously inhabited European-established settlement in the US was founded in 1565, but it still has much to offer today.

St. Augustine was founded by the Spanish, ceded to Great Britain after the Seven Years War, ceded back to Spain after the 1783 Treaty of Paris, before finally being ceded for the final time to the United States. Many historic buildings and landmarks reside here, along with the fabled Fountain of Youth (see: Tourist Trap). But I was most interested in the Castillo de San Marcos and the beach myself, thus please enjoy this collection of those two locations.
